Simma Software Achieves a Milestone in Hardware Business
December 30, 2017, Terre Haute, IN – By the end of 2017, Simma Software, Inc has built its 100,000th Vehicle Network Adapter (VNA). Beginning in 2011, Simma added hardware design and manufacturing to their embedded software business with the introduction of the VNA. The VNAs are used in the commercial automotive industry supporting J1939 and J1708, as well as the light-duty truck market supporting OBDII.
According to the Director of Business Development, Patrick Browne, “We experienced a huge increase in our hardware business throughout 2017 due to the government imposed ELD mandate for commercial trucking. Our VNA Bluetooth device is used by several fleets and fleet service managers for their ELD compliant solutions.”
Simma Software has grown tremendously since inception as an embedded software company, from its first customer in 2004 to over 1000 customers worldwide from a variety of industries including: automotive, military, and medical. Notable customers include Toyota, Audi, Saab, Boeing, Eaton, Freightliner/Daimler, Cummins, Bose, Ford, the U.S. military, Lockheed Martin, and General Dynamics. In 2009, a separate milestone was reached as the number of units the firm’s software solutions were deployed on reached the 1 million mark.
