J1939-0 Parent Document

The J1939 standard is a recommended pratice for serial control and communications for light, medium, and heavy duty vehicles. The main purpose of J1939 is to allow ECUs to communicate together by defining a common message structure. J1939 is issued by the ‘Truck Bus Control and Communication Network’ Committee.

The J1939 document serves as the parent document for the specification. It includes tables for source addresses, preferred addresses, function codes and industry groups.
